Google Fit website is shutting down March 19th

Google Fit is dedicated to coaching you to lead a healthier and more active lifestyle, and making healthy behavior changes easier to achieve. In the last year, we redesigned Google Fit with new activity goals based on the American Heart Association and World Health Organization physical activity recommendations, added guided breathing and home screen widgets, and hosted a New Year 30-day challenge. As we continue to focus efforts on adding new capabilities that enhance the mobile and smartwatch Google Fit experience, we’ll be turning off this Google Fit website on 19 March 2019. So one of the Principals at my office does some acting on the side and he shared this story from the commercial below.

So, you know how when you see those commercials where someone is running up a hill or through a countryside – or maybe driving a car on some exotic journey – you do know the part you see them running or driving or whatever they’re doing is the ONLY time they’re actually do it – right?

It’s called action/cut/return to first position.

Well, I arrived on this location high above San Francisco via cab as I was told there was very limited parking for the first setup.

So we wrap the first setup and the director tells us to follow the crew to the next location – they’ll drive slow.

And it was like… follow you to the next location?

You mean ride the bikes to the next location?

And then it was like – hey, what happened to the Talent being brought to the next location?

Anyway, as turned out there were 3 next locations covering somewhere around 9 miles which in the end made the laugher you see very real because we were wondering and laughing about where we were going to ride next.

And while it got really cold as we were out there about 5 hours in the end it was really fun and of course something to joke about later.

“With the loss of Hornet and serious damage to Enterprise, the Battle of Santa Cruz was a Japanese victory, but at an extremely high cost,” said Rear Admiral (Ret.) Samuel Cox, director of Naval History and Heritage Command, in a statement. “About half the Japanese aircraft engaged were shot down by greatly improved U.S. Navy anti-aircraft defenses.

“As a result, the Japanese carriers did not engage again in battle for almost another two years.”
