A little light reading.

I'm not reading this because of any issues that have come up, but as part of some assigned reading.

I'm already familiar with the need and practice of church discipline but I do appreciate how Jonathan Leeman explains the motive and gives some insightful examples to help determine when excommunication is and isn't warranted.

Church discipline is difficult and its far too easy to over apply and under apply in cases of sin. Remembering that the goal is repentance is key and that in the absence of that, protecting the flock is the other goal.
