If you’re looking for a good family-friendly game, I highly recommend Dragonwood. Easy enough for the kids to play, strategic enough for adults to enjoy (no kids required). On sale for $8
I will point out that the 8+ age is pretty spot on. My youngest and my coworker’s son (both 7) have a little trouble thinking outside the box. There are three ways to group your cards (flush, straight, and same number) so younger kids tend to get stuck on one grouping and forget they can group them the other way.
