So my office just lit up with amber alerts – everyone except mine. Did some research and found where on my Nexus 6P the settings are but they are all set to receive alerts. So here's two possible explanations…

1) Since I use Hangouts for SMS instead of Messages, the alert isn't getting through. Turns out Messages was my default SMS. Even less clear since it was set to receive alerts.
2) Since I have a San Diego Area Code but am in San Francisco area, my number wasn't sent an alert.

Both scenarios are not acceptable. Time to do some more digging.
