This is why I won't be getting anymore +L.L.Bean shirts. This tear at the elbow is the fourth shirt to go down this way in the past few months.
The first one you figure is just a freak accident. Maybe it caught on something like a fence or in the laundry. The second you start to suspect wear and tear was just not kind. By the third shirt you suspect there's something wrong with the armrest of your desk chair or your car door. By the fourth you simply accept the fact that these shirts are not made very well and are glad you switched to another brand.
Which is hard because a good, quality shirts don't come cheap, especially when you need XXL-Tall which are hard to find. I still have shirts from Mervyn's that are wearable and they closed their doors back in 2009. My shirts were older than that. These +L.L.Bean shirts are less than 2 years old.
